Everyone is welcome at The Plough
For over fifty years, The Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington, Devon has been an inclusive creative venue for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, at the very heart of the community. The Clare Milne Trust trustees were delighted to recently support the charity with a grant to expand its valuable drama and dance workshops, specifically for disabled participants in addition to completing essential flooring upgrades, greatly enhancing accessibility.
The dedicated creative sessions and performance opportunities are designed specifically for those living with disabilities. Each workshop is led by highly trained professionals known for their creativity, empathy, and supportive approach; totally inspirational.
These hugely popular sessions provide a safe and joyful space for participants to explore drama, movement, and self‑expression, building confidence, communication skills, and social connections, lasting benefits that reach far beyond the sessions themselves.
Our trustees were recently able to see first‑hand the new flooring being installed, together with significant programme of improvements funded through an additional significant grant from Arts Council England.
