Supporting Calvert Exmoor
The Clare Milne Trust has been a valued support of Calvert Exmoor for many years.
As a charity, we aim to fundraise an amount to support the stay of every single guest to make our breaks more affordable and accessible to all. The most recent support of the Trust has helped to cover this amount for nearly 60 guests from Devon and Cornwall in 2022.
Being supported by Clare Milne Trust in this way helped improve our financial security, and being a supporter of these core costs, which is often excluded by so many, continues to be helpful in opening discussions with other potential funders. It has also lifted the morale of all those working and volunteering with us and has supported the long-term sustainability of the centre for which we are incredibly grateful.
The home of accessible activity breaks in Devon
Calvert Exmoor is home of accessible activity breaks in Devon; an outdoor adventure centre and charity that provides inclusive activity sessions for people with disabilities alongside their families, friends and carers.
We believe it’s what you CAN do that counts. Everyone CAN…
- do outdoor adventure activities like climbing, abseiling, horse-riding, canoeing and more
- overcome personal obstacles with help and encouragement
- make new friends through group activities
- develop new skills, build self-confidence, and gain greater independence
- improve their physical and mental well-being
- enjoy a fulfilling break with loved ones without being excluded or restricted.
Our goal is to make this philosophy a reality and provide the best accessible adventure breaks for all. People with physical, behavioral, sensory, learning and complex multiple disabilities have been visiting Calvert Exmoor since 1996. They are encouraged to enjoy an exclusive range of adventurous activities and push themselves in a positive, safe, and challenging way.
Situated at Wistlandpound Reservoir on the edge of Exmoor National Park in North Devon, the fully accessible centre offers professionally adaptive accommodation nestled in the tranquil environment of the stunning countryside. Whether guests are visiting by themselves, with family, friends or carers, or as part of a group, we provide breaks and activities for everyone regardless of age or ability.
